[Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XVIII] A shock-absorber for weighing-apparatus comprises a lever whose free end is contacted by the weights box or scale pan on. its descent and whose other end is harnessed to a bonded indiarubber torsion disc secured to the frame of the apparatus, A machine of the evenarmed weigh-beam type has levers 3 whose free ends are located below and to one side of the weights box 1 which has projections 1a to depress them on its descent. Each lever has a disc 3a bolted to a coupling plate 5 of a'rubber disc 6 which is bonded thereto and to a coupling plate 7 bolted to the frame. A stop 8 with locking-nut 9 limits the upward movement of the levers.
