Abstract
400,455. Weighing -apparatus. TERAOKA, T. and KABUSHIKI KWAISHA ASAHI KOKI SEISAKUSHO, 1927, Oi Suzugamori-machi, Shinagawa-ku, Tokio. Jan. 5, 1933, No. 368. [Class 143.] A weighing-machine comprising a balance lever 4, a finely divided dial 26 co-operating with a pointer 25 actuated by a curved rack 9, and an auxiliary pointer 22 for giving a rough indication is characterized by the curved rack being mounted on one end of the balance lever by means of a pivot 19, Fig. 2, and short vertical projection 10 whereby the rack is yieldingly pressed towards its pinion by the effect of gravity. The curved rack is adjustably secured by bolts 15 to a curved member 11<1> carrying an adjustable balance weight 16. The movements of the lever 4 are controlled by a spring 30 adjustable at the upper end along the lever, and adjustable for tension at the lower end by a finger nut 60. A spirit level 47 is situated on the base casing and is mounted on a spring 49, Fig. 9, upon a turntable 50. Adjusting screws 51, 52 secure the level to the turntable. Vibration, neutralizing.-A dashpot 34 connected to the balance lever is provided with a graphite piston and the damping effect is regulated by a screw 35, Fig. 4, having a V-shaped longitudinal groove along the inner end.
