[Class 143] Pendulum-weight apparatus.-A letter-scale or like weighing device of the kind having a weighted and pivoted pendulum member 51 formed with an arcuate portion 5 concentric with the pivot 10 and terminating in a weight 11 is characterized by the feature that the mechanism is enclosed in a casing 1 provided with an opening through which the arcuate portion projects. An auxiliary weight 12, supported in a recess 15 when out of use, may be added to the weight 11 to increase the weighing capacity. The lower end of the pan support 4 is connected to a link 6 rigid with a pointer 7 indicating upon an arcuate portion 2 of the casing. The device is supported at one end on two bosses 18, and at the other end on a wide hinged plate 20 adjusted by a screw 19.
