Abstract
547,810. Weighing-apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., SYKES. C. M.; and SANDERS, L. May 5, 1941, No. 5811. [Class 143] A platform weighing apparatus primarily for use in connection with the separate wheels or landing points of aircraft is provided with a pair of counterweighted or spring-loaded shock absorbing levers 17, 19 mounted on one of the levers 12 of the weighing system, the lever 19 being connected to the weight indicating pointer (not shown) and to a dashpot 24. When a load is imposed on the system, the lever 12 lifts the pivot 25 of the levers 17, 19, and a stop 18 on the lever 12 raises the weighted end of the lever 17, the lever 19 lagging behind until a seating 19a thereon makes contact with a projection 17a on the lever 17. An automatic resistant is connected through lever mechanism to the lever 12, and a rack 21 is connected to the lever 19 to actuate the indicating pointer. On removal of the load the lever 12 rocks in the opposite direction and the two levers 17, 19 return slowly together until the weighted end of the lever 17 again rests on the stop 18.
