[Class 106 (i)] [Also in Groups XX and XXXIII] An apparatus for determining the longitudinal position of the centre of gravity and gross weight of a seaplane afloat, as described in the parent Specification, is modified in that the means for indicating the longitudinal position of the centre of gravity is connected to pressure - determining means arranged near the plane of the aerodynamic centre and to further pressure-determining means arranged at a point remote from the aerodynamic centre in the longitudinal direction of the seaplane. The gross weight is indicated by means actuated only by the pressure - determining means arranged near the plane of the aerodynamic centre. The indication of the longitudinal position of the centre of gravity is obtained from a pointer read either against that scale, of a number of scales, which corresponds to the indicated gross weight, or if only one scale is provided, against the scale which is adjusted manually or automatically in accordance with the gross weight. Two pressure-determining means are arranged, one on either side of the seaplane, near the plane of the aerodynamic centre, to allow for true indications when the seaplane is rocking or is tilted during loading.
