Abstract

Clinometers.-A transparent spherical container 4 is fully charged with equal volumes of two liquids a, b, or different specific gravities suitably coloured so that their plane of separation 13 may serve as an indicator in conjunction with suitable scales 10, 11. A small air chamber covered with a diaphragm 7 allows for the expansion of the liquids. A hemispherical container with its diametral plane vertical may be employed providing a special scale is used in the plane at right-angles to the diametral plane.
