Abstract

141,565. Hefford, A. June 25, 1919. Clinometers.-A level and clinometer for aircraft comprises a quantity of granular &c. material 2 within a glass vessel 1 which preferably has two bulbs 1<a>, 1<b> connected by a restricted passage 1<c>. The bulb 1<a> may be marked with a scale of angles. The apparatus is enclosed in a case 3 having glass windows 4. Inversion of the aircraft is indicated by the material 2 passing into the bulb 1<b>. The vessel 1 may be in the form of a sphere or a vertical or horizontal tube or it may consist of a spheroidal vessel with a flattened heavy face.
