Abstract

470,714. Levels. MEYER, A. March 13, 1936, No. 7621. [Class 97 (ii)] An apparatus for measuring the inclination of planes in two directions at right-angles comprises a bubble level 5 on a member 22 universally supported in a closed casing 1, and adapted to be adjusted about two axes at right-angles, 14, 41, by operating pointers, 32, 42, outside the casing. As shown, the spherical member 22 is supported in cups 34, 35 and has a projection 17, passing between a pair of parallel rods 24, 25, connected to the pointer 42 and a pair of parallel rods 20, 21, connected to the pointer 32. The member 22 is adjusted about the axis 41 by moving the pointer 42, the projection 17 moving freely between the rods 20, 21, and about the axis 14 by moving the pointer 32, the projection 17 then moving freely between the rods 24, 25.
