[Class 106 (i)] An instrument for use by builders and capable of ascertaining the angle of an inclined surface and the length of such surface and for delineating angles, consists of a base 10 incorporating a slidable scale 13, juxtaposed graduations 32, 33 on the base parallel to the slidable scale, a rotatable cursor 15 mounted on the base, at least two pointers on the cursor, one of said pointers A being juxtaposed graduations on the slidable scale and the other pointer B, C or D being juxtaposed graduations 24-31 formed angularly about said cursor and a level bulb 22 in the cursor. The base also has a level bulb 34. Examples are given of the use of the .apparatus.
