500,267. Calculating - apparatus. BOYD, P. Aug. 6, 1937, No. 21729. [Class 106 (i)] A course-calculating instrument for aeroplanes &c. comprises at least three graduated arms constituted by a course arm 10 pivotally connected at the zero point of its scale with the centre of a protractor or compass card 11 and on which is slidably mounted a pivotal connecting device 20 serving also as an indicator, and two additional arms 14 - 15 each pivoted at the zero point of its s@@, to the pivots above referred to, respectively together with a slidable pivotal connecting device 16 or a series of pivotal connecting means. The arm 13 is used for setting the wind velocity, while arm 15 is used for air speed. In a simpler modification additional arms 17, 19 are omitted.
