Abstract
406,488. Calculators, plane-trigonometry. SONABEND, H., 14, U1. Sosnowa, Warsaw. March 11, 1933, No. 7472. [Class 106 (i).] A map holder is provided with means for ascertaining the direction and rate of travel for land vehicles and sea or air craft, comprising a graduated compass disc 14, slidably supported on a rod 15, which is itself slidably supported in grooves 18, 18<1> in the casing. Rotatable arms 16, 17 carried by the disc are graduated to take into account the velocity and direction of the wind and the speed of the vehicle respectively, and a graduated ribbon 11, the ends of which are attached to bobbins 12, 121 adjustable in slots 13, 13<1>, is provided, to enable the pilot to ascertain his course without this being plotted directly on the map.
