Abstract
603,383. Aircraft instruments. JACK & HEINTZ, Inc. Oct. 19, 1945, No. 27503. Convention date, Nov. 2, 1944. [Classes 97 (ii) and 97 (iii)] [Also in Group XIX] The dial has a number of separate windows with movable indicators, indicating respectively climb or dive, bank, air-speed, rate of turn and rate of dive or climb. The rate of turn indicating pointer 2 extends from a gyroscope, constrained by an adjustable spring, damped by a dashpot, and housed at the rear of the instrument casing. The climb or dive indicator 8 and bank indicators 10, 11 consist of transparent tubular loops arranged in the fore-and-aft and transverse vertical planes respectively and half filled with liquid. The air-speed indicator 5 and rate of climb indicator 7 are operated respectively by a bellows subject internally to the dynamic pressure and externally to the static pressure of a pitot head and by a bellows with a leak subject externally to the static pressure (see Group XIX). An index member 9 co-operating with the climb indicator 8 may be vertically adjusted from the knob 60.
