Abstract

471,093. Navigational instruments for aircraft. SIEMENS APPARATE UND MASCHINEN GES. Jan. 20, 1937, No. 1750. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1936. [Classes 97 (ii) and 97 (iii)] A turn indicator, longitudinal clinometer, and lateral clinometer are so combined into one instrument that their indicators are superposed in their zero positions. As shown the pointer 4 of the turn indicator is pivoted at 5 and actuated by the restrained gyroscope 2. The longitudinal clinometer comprises a closed rectangular tube 7 half filled with coloured alcohol. The indicating limb of the tube 7 lies behind the window 8 and immediately in front of the pointer 4. The transverse rolling ball level 10 is secured to a plate 6 immediately behind the pointer 4. In a modification the pointer 4 is provided with a double bend enabling it to pass behind the level 10, 11 is a switch for regulating the speed of the gyroscope.
