Abstract
593,003. Indicating-apparatus. UTTLEY, A. M. June 6, 1945, No. 14319. [Class 106 (iv)] [Also in Groups XX and XXXVIII] To indicate the limits #, Fig. 1, within which the bearing angle # of an aircraft A relative to an objective O must be maintained, e.g. during evasive action, if the aircraft is to track on to the objective O from a point, e.g. E or D, at a specified distance therefrom without exceeding a predetermined rate of turning, the dial of a navigating instrument is provided with weave tolerance indicators 19, 20, Fig. 2, between which a bearing indicator 1 must be maintained. The pointers 19, 20 are actuated by moving coils 21, 22, fed with a voltage proportional to the distance AC by radar navigational apparatus, and move from behind a mask 25 over a scale of distances towards the datum mark 3. The pointer 1 is connected by an electirc follow up system (see Group XXXVIII) to a shaft 4 which is rotated in accordance with the angle # by differential gear 5 and the shafts 6, 7 of appropriate navigating apparatus.
