Abstract

An indicator panel for an aircraft instrument panel uses rectangular scales in place of the usual round scales with pointers. In this way an increased number of scales can be accommodated in a given panel area. A side plate (1) supports a graduated scale (2) of an instrument panel. The plate also supports a pivot axis (3) which turns through an angle proportional to the value to be displayed. An arm (4) attached to the axis carries a pivot (4a) about which one end of a lever (5) can articulate while the other end traverses a window (2a) of the scale. An index (6) is attached by a pin. Two knife edge shoulders (8, 9) attached to the side plate determine the angular movement of the lever (5).
