Abstract
537,951. Weighing apparatus. TOLEDO SCALE CO. Oct. 7, 1940, No. 14932. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1939. [Class 143]. [Also in Group XIX] Comprises indicating mechanism in which a pivoted member connected to the indicator is also connected with a calibrating member positioned adjacent the path of movement of the axis of the member and which is deformable from a parallel relation to such path to influence through the pivoted member the indication. As applied to the computing scales for weighing machine Fig. VII, the index arm 75 is mounted on a yoke 80 pivoted independently about an axis coincident with the knife edge 68 of the pendulum lever 66. An extension 84 from this lever carries the pivot of an arm 88 a pin 89 on which engages a slot in the arm 75. A wire 91 attached to the arm 88 is looped to engage the calibrating member 93. In calibrating standard weights are applied to turn the index' arm, and its indication is corrected by loosening the nearest clip 95 and moving it to deform the strip 93 so that the wire 91 turns the index arm 75 to the desired position when the clip 95 is tightened.
