1466535 Domestic scale B S FOMBONA 10 Feb 1975 [11 Feb 1974 18 Feb 1974] 5651/75 Heading G1W A domestic scale comprises a frame having two side members 3, 4, two parallel levers 6, 7 pivoted at their rear ends to the side members, a vertical plate 10 pivotally mounted on the front ends of the levers and having tranverse top and bottom arms 13, 14, an adjustable tension spring 16 disposed between the arm 14 and a bridge member 5, and a member 15 extending vertically from arm 13 to support a platter 34, the lever 6 carrying an arm 20 to the free end of which is secured a rack 22 meshing with a pinion whose spindle carries a pointer co-operating with a dial 31 secured to the front part of the frame. Rack 21 extends through a guide hole in an arm attached to bracket 21, and is biased towards the pinion by a spring 28 attached to an arm 29 rigidly secured to arm 20. A second scale 37 is rotatably mounted above the main scale 31 for use in weighing out the ingredients of a mixture.
