Abstract
758,544. Weighing apparatus. SALTER & CO., Ltd., G. March 21, 1955 [Ftb. 10, 1954], No. 3874/54. Class 143 In a personal weighing machine the load on a plate 23 is transmitted through brackets 18 and a cross bar 15 to the free ends a pair of parallel spring plates 11, 12, the other ends of which are anchored. to a fixed cross bar 5; moveinent of the spring plates being transmitted to an indicator actuating rack 36 by a lever 39 which is pivoted at 40 to a bracket extension 38 of bar 15, and which is provided with an adjustable plate 44 bearing on a second lever 48 normally rigid with bar 5. Lever 48 is pivoted at 50 to a bracket extension 51 of bar 5, and is normally retained in the position shown by a relatively strong shock absorbing spring 52 which is adapted to extend in the event of a heavy load being suddenly applied to the machine. The spindle 30, carrying pinion 35 and a calibrated disc 29, moves with brackets 18, Zeroizing is effected by pivoting the stationary pointer 54 about a stud 55 by means of a slide 57 provided with a stud 58 engaging an oblique slot 59 in the pointer.
