Abstract

1280931 Weighing scale RELIANCE ELECTRIC CO 16 Sept 1970 44137/70 Heading G1W A weighing scale comprises a pinion 21 for driving an indicator 10 which is rotatably mounted on a fixed axis and is driven by a rack 20 which is mounted by a lever 22 on a bar 23 pivotably supported between two compensating bars 19 carried by two pendulums 16. The pendulums are suspended from the outer guide 11 by steel ribbons 17 and the load is transmitted through a steelyard 12 and a pair of ribbons 14 to sectors 15 of the pendulums 16. The centre of gravity of the pivoted rack assembly lies substantially on the axis of the pivot and to ensure that the rack is balanced about the pivotal axis of the bar 23 an adjustable L-shape weight is attached to the lever 22. A spring 26 is provided which tends to pivot the rack against the pinion with a constant force for all position of the rack,
