[Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] Aircraft alighting-gear includes a kneeshaped leg in which landing and other loads are transmitted from the lower limb of the leg to a spring disposed in the upper limb, through hydraulic means. In one form, a tube 5 carrying a piston 13 telescopes within a tube 2 and through a liquid medium transmits the landing shocks through a piston 6 to the spring 4. The liquid is metered through an orifice 9 adjustable on removal of a cap 11 by a screw-threaded pin 10.
