[Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] An aircraft landing gear embodies a landing element mounting bracket swingable about a transverse pivot, both for shock absorption and retraction movements. which are provided for by a combined shock absorber and retraction unit having a shock absorber plunger 4 extending from one end and a remotely-controllable jack plunger 7 extending from the other end, the outer ends 5, 8 of the plungers having means of connection to the aircraft structure and mounting bracket respectively. The shock absorber comprises a piston 4a with damping ports 4b working in a cylinder 3 filled with a resilient fluid. Specification 568,582, [Group XXIX], is referred to.
