561,275. Landing-gear for aircraft.. ARMANDIAS, L. S., and ASSOCIATED MESSIER INVESTMENTS, Ltd. Nov. 5, 1942, No. 15639. [Class 4] In landing gear, comprising front and rear landing-elements, such as wheel's 1a, 1b shown in Fig. 1, and yielding connections between each wheel and 'the aircraft, each yielding connection comprises a resilient support 4a responding adequately to taxying shocks and a hydraulic landing shock-absorber 19a in series with the resilient support. 4a, there being a connection such as the pipe 24 between the hydraulic shock-absorber 19a of the front wheel 1a and the hydraulic shock-absorber 19b of the rear wheel 1b to balance the front and rear landing loads and there also being a hydropneumatic accumulator 25 connected through damping orifices to the pipe 24 so as to provide resistance to contraction for both sets of shockabsorbers. Locking devices 40a, 41a are provided to immobilise the landing shock-absorbers in the contracted position attained during landing. Besides the quadricycle landing gear shown in Fig. 1, two examples of tricycle gears are described. Specification 519,275 is referred to.
