342,515. Weighing apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T. and GILBERT, A. S., Soho Foundry, Birmingham. Jan. 29, 1930, No. 3017. [Class 143.] Sliding-w e i g h t apparatus.-In a weighing and weight totalizing apparatus of the kind described in Specification 103,707, [Class .143, Weighing- apparatus] an auxiliary lever 7 is disposed below the poise weight 6 at the zero position and is adapted under the influence of a counterweight 9 to bear on the poise weight so as to impart an additional upward movement to the steelyard 4 upon the application of a load and thus assist the steelyard to initiate the movement whereby the poise weight commences its traverse along the steelyard on the application of even a relatively small load. According to the Provisional Specification, the auxiliary lever may be replaced by a spring-loaded plunger.
