Abstract

407,393. Weighing-apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., and LEESON, A., Soho Foundry, Birmingham. Sept. 19, 1932, No. 25957. [Class 143.] An automatic weighing-apparatus particularly for personal weighing has a platform which substantially envelops the whole of the weighing and weight-indicating mechanism, the weight indications being viewed through the platform. As shown, the platform 28, supported on compound levers 7, 9 has a depending flange enclosing the mechanism and is provided with a window 28<a> fitted with a lens 29 permitting the person standing on the platform to view the indicating chart 24. The indicating chart is actuated from the lever 9 by means of a bellcrank lever 18 and rack 20. The weight resistant is in the form of a spring 12 supporting the adjacent ends of the levers 7, 9, the upper end of the spring being adjustable by a nut 14<a>. The machine may be lifted by a handle 15 secured to the platform which is prevented from becoming detached during the lifting by means of bolts 31.
