Abstract

Automatic-feed weighers. - The material in suspension at cut-off is compensated for by means of a lever which is removably arranged to pivot on the fulcrum block of the weigh beam. In a modification the lever is supported loosely by two projections on the weigh beam. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the bearing blocks i supporting the weigh beam k are extended to receive the knife-edges g of the compensating lever b. One arm of the compensating lever bears an adjustable weight h, and the other arm has a portion f passing under the weight-pan side of the weigh beam and exerting a sufficient pressure thereon to compensate for the suspended material. By raising the weighted end of the compensating lever its influence may be removed from the weigh beam. In a modification, Fig. 3, wherein knife-edge supports for the compensating lever are dispensed with, the weigh beam is provided with two projections a, a' which engage notches in the upper and lower edges of the compensating lever b. A pin d on the frame projects into a large aperture in the compensating lever and forms a support for the compensating lever when its weighted end is raised.
