402,547. Weighing-apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., and TIMSON, W., Soho Foundry, Birmingham. Aug. 13, 1932, No. 22709. [Class 143.] Counter scales.-In a counter scale of the Roberval type each of the pan supports 7 has at its lower end an inwardly-directed portion 7a which serves to carry the supporting means for the bearings co-acting with the knife-edges 17 of the weighbeam 9, a self contained unit being formed by the pan supports, weighbeam, co-operating stay 10 and a central support or abutment 12 for the weighbeam and stay. The central support or abutment is bolted to the underside of the top of the housing 8 and carries oppositely-directed knife-edges for the stay 10 to abut against, the lower end of the support branching out into upturned ends to provide bearings for the fulcrum of the weighbeam. The pan supports may be provided with projections 7b to retain the bearings in position. Specification 401,412 is referred to.
