Pendulum-weight apparatus; vibration, prevent. ing and neutralizing.-In a weighing-scale of the hanging weigh-pan type used more particularly for weighing tobacco &c., swinging of the weigh pan or its support is prevented by a resilient member always contacting directly with the pan or support. 'The weigh-pan o of a pendulumweight scale is carried by a support p suspended from a member k that is in turn suspended from a knife-edge i on the pendulum-lever h. The lower end of the member k is connected to the piston s of a cylindrical, air dashpot t and is provided with a spring r engaging the underside of the pan-support p. The dashpot is provided in the lower part of its curved surface with holes t', the effective size of which may be varied to regulate the passage of air by means of a rotatable, slotted ring u. In a modification, Fig. 2, the pan support p is provided at its upper end with a knife-edge x engaging a bearing surface formed in the upper part of the knife-edge bearing w of the member k.
