Abstract

244,293. Avery, Ltd., W. & T.., and Timson, W. Jan. 27, 1925. Pendulum-weight apparatus; supporting-arrangements; compound-lever apparatus. - An automatic weighing scale, embodying indicating- mechanism of the kind described in Specification 200,139, is provided with a suspended scale pan connected to the weighing resistants of the indicating-mechanism through an intermediate lever or levers. As shown in Fig. 1, the scale pan 4 is connected by levers 8, 17 and a flexible band 23 to a cam 24 which is secured to segments 25a supported on a knife-edge bearing 27. Flexible ribbons 29, secured to the segments, wind in opposite directions round (and constitute the sole support for) a pair of drums 30 carrying the indicating spindle, which is provided at each end with a graduated dial. A pendulum resistant 33 is carried by the segments and a dash-pot 35 is connected to the lever 17. A spring buffer 36 prevents excessive movement. An eye 38 is provided on the casing for suspending the scale. In a modification, Fig. 3, the scale is supported by a pair of arms 39 extending from a base plate 40 provided with adjusting feet 41.
