Pendulum - weight apparatus; balances, links and stays for. - The indicator of a semi-automatic weighing scale is operated by means of a lever pivoted on the weighbeam and directly connected to the flexible member that operates the pendulous resistant, the lever being controlled by means independent of the French stay of the weighbeam. As shown, an inverted L-shaped lever c is pivoted to a bracket b projecting from the beam a. The lower end of the lever c is guided by a stay e pivoted to the frame while the other end is connected to the flexible ribbon d<1> of the pendulous resistant h. The bracket b is slotted to allow the lever to rise off its bearings upon the sudden application of a load to the goods-pan. The lever is normally retained in its bearings by a weight on the horizontal arm.
