Abstract

240,650. Automatic Scale Co., Ltd., and Blick, E. L. Oct. 11, 1924. Indicating-mechanism; pendulum-weight apparatus.-In a weighing-apparatus of the kind wherein a graduated weights chart and an index pointer mounted on independent aligned knife-edges or pivots move in opposite directions on the application of a load, the load is transmitted to the indicating-mechanism through a common intermediate member forming part of a parallel motion linkage whereby the locus of the point of application of the load from the intermediate member to the two separately-mounted units of the indicating mechanism is a straight line. The load is transmitted by a draw-rod 3 to a parallel motion linkage 12, 17, 18 which is connected by cone pivots 20 and flexible ribbons 24, 31 to two independent pendulum resistants 29, 37 carrying respectively the indicating pointer 28 and the graduated weight chart 36. The ribbons are arranged to rotate the pointer and chart in opposite directions. The fulcra of the pendulum resistants are in alignment and lie in the same vertical plane as the axis of the link 17. A tare beam 42 with a dash-pot 44 is coupled to the lever 12.
