194,871. Bayliss, A. W. Jan. 28, 1922. Balances, counter-scales, and the like; compound-lever and like apparatus.- In semi-automatic weighing-machines, the indicator mechanism is coupled with the main scale-beam 12 bv a lever 1 pivoted intermediate its ends, one end being linked to the beam whilst the other end is linked to the indicator mechanism. The lever is pivoted by means of a knife-edge 2 bearing on a link 3 pivoted to the base of the machine. When weights are applied to the weight-pan 11, the knife-edges 2, 4 move away from their bearings, thus protecting the apparatus from shock.
