July 31, 1930, No. 23059.[Class 143.] An automatic or semi-automatic weighing apparatus of the kind which employs an indicator having connection through a flexible or pivotal means with a weighbeam or weighing lever and which utilizes a flexible strip or strips as the resistant for the automatic indicating mechanism is characterized in that the flexible resistant strip 13 is of a subsubstantially C or bow-shape and in that one end of the strip is connected to a portion 11 of the indicator 9 and the other end to a relatively fixed portion 14 of the apparatus and in that the transmission of the movement of the weighbeam to the indicator takes place through a flexible ribbon 2 which co-operates with a cam 3 fixed to or forming part of the indicator. The portion 14 may be adjusted by a screw 15 to regulate the influence of the resistance strip 13. A counterweight 12 balances the indicator and cam about the fulcrum knife-edge 5.
