Abstract

485,311. Weighing-apparatus. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., and TIMSON, W. Feb. 17, 1937, No. 4700. [Class 143] Balances ; relieving-mechanism.-In a chemical or like balance the chart 15 and the indicating pointer 14a are moved together as a unit when the weighbeam 9 is raised or lowered to free or relieve the scale pans. The weighbeam with its attached pointer is fulcrumed at the top of a rod 6 which also carries the chart 15 and may be raised or lowered by means of a manually-operated plunger 17 acting through a lever. After depressing the plunger to raise the weighbeam, a slight rotation of the plunger brings a projecting head 18 thereon into engagement with a slot 19a to retain the parts in the operative position.
