[Class 143.] In a weighing-scale of the type wherein the scale beam 1 is situated in the lower part of the casing 3 and the check links 12 are arranged between the pan 7 and the beam, the pivotal points'of the check links are displaced from the vertical position over the pivots 2, 5 of the beam, and the pan carries an out-of-centre projection 15 to form one of the check link pivots, the rod 8 supporting the pan passing between the check links without a direct connection thereto. The check links act respectively as thrust and compression members in co-operation with oppositely-directed knife-edges. An upwardlydirected part 16 of the casing surrounds the check links. The scale pan has a depending flange 17 enclosing the top of the part 16.
