Abstract

Vibration, neutralizing; casings.-The dash-pot of a weighing-machine is secured to the baseplate of the housing in such a manner that it may be removed from the underside of the plate. As shown, the dash-pot 19 is screwed into the open lower end of a hollow boss 15 which projects upwardly from the base-plate 5. The plunger 21 of the dash-pot is connected to the scale-pan support 13 by a rod 22 passing through an aperture 16 in the upper end of the boss 15. Flanges 17. 18 formed round the aperture 16 prevent escape of the contents of the dash-pot, should the machine be tipped over. The base-plate 5 is separate from the rest of the housing and carries the bearing supports 6.
