Pendulum-weight apparatus.-In a self-indicating weighing-machine of the pendulumweight type, the weighbeam is fulcrumed above the indicator and connected so as to actuate the indicator without lateral thrust on the knifeedge bearing. The arm of the weigh-beam 1 is connected to an eccentric 15, pivoted on knife edges 10 by means of a downwardly depending rod 16 attached to a stirrup 17. pivotally mounted on the arm of the weigh-beam, and to a flexible steelband 18, which passes over the eccentric and is secured to it at a point on the opposite side. The knife-edge bearings 8 of the pivotal support of the pendulum-weight and indicator are carried by a bracket 7, which is secured near the lower end of the casing 4 and also serves to support the dash-pot 14. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the counter-weight 12 has an externally projecting arm 25 with an upwardly disposed knife-edge and the rod depending from the weigh-beam has a bearing 27 for the upwardly disposed knife. edge and is formed with a weight 28.
