Abstract

255,671. Marks, E. C. R., (Toledo Scale Co.). Sept. 4, 1925. Pendulum-weight apparatus.- In a weighing scale oi the kind in which the platform is prevented from tipping by a parallelogram linkage, the four members of the parallelogram are constituted by a base housing, a platform lever within the housing, a platform support resting on the load pivot of the lever, and a link extending from a point within the platform support vertically over the load pivot to a part of the base housing vertically over the fulcrum pivot of the platform lever. As applied to an automatic scale of the fan type the main lever 3 fulcrumed on pivots 4 supports on the load pivots 11 a member 12 to which is secured the platform spider 13. The member 12 is bored to provide clearance for a stud 16 fixed on the spider. A link 17 connects the stud to a bracket 19 attached to the base housing. The pivots of the link are arranged in the vertical planes of the pivots 4, 11 and form a parallelogram therewith. The plunger 23 of a dashpot 22 is connected to the member 12, and a dust protecting-cap 24 is secured beneath the spider.
