Abstract

248,966. Marks, E. C. R., (Toledo Scale Co.). Sept. 13, 1924. Bearings. - In a weighing-scale, the load supporting knife-edge on the beam is prevented from becoming deranged with respect to the bearing on the scale-pan by means of a sharpedged member which is mounted on the beam and engages a surface-member on the scale-pan leg. The invention is of general application but is shown applied to a weighing-scale of the character described in Specification 248,799. A knife-edge plate 38 mounted on the beam 7 engages the head 41, Fig. 2, of a screw 40 mounted in the scale-pan by 12, and thereby holds the knife-edges 11 on the beam in engagement with bearings 12<a> on the scale-pan leg. The plate 38 is mounted for slidable adjustment in the head 37, Fig. 4, of a stud 36, which in turn is adjustably mounted in a boss 34 formed integral with the end 35 of the lever 7.
