Beams; casings; scale-pans; pendulum-weight apparatus.-A weighing scale comprises a base housing 20, a weighbeam 3 located in the base housing, projections 12, 13 on the weighbeam. extending through the top of the base housing and carrying knife-edges or bearings, and means, for example, tubular projections 23 24, on the weigh-pans or their carriers, or on both the base housing and the weigh pans or carriers, for enclosing the knife-edge bearings, and an upstanding indicator casing 8 enclosing the fulcrum knifeedges 18 of the weighbeam. The pan carrier or spider 4 has a separate extension 6 connected in known manner to the pendulous weight 9 of the indicating mechanism.
