Pendulum-weight apparatus.-A weighing-apparatus comprises two pendulum weighing-scales mounted on one support and adapted to weigh goods independently of each other. One of the weighing-scales is provided with means for increasing its normal weighing capacity. One weighing - scale comprises a scale pan 1, beam 3, wire 9, pendulum 11, and a pair of transparent indicating pointers 16, one on each side of the scale. Similarly, the second weighing- scale comprises a scale pan 24, beam 26, wire 31, pendulum 33, and a pair of indicating pointers 37, and in addition this scale has the following arrangements for increasing its weighing capacity. A shaft 45 rotated by a handle carries a pair of arms 46 supporting a weight 48. When the shaft is rotated the weight is lowered on to hooks 51 on the beam 26, which is tilted into correct position for the transfer by a lever 69 also operated from the shaft 45. At the same time a wire 57 allows a bell crank lever 59 and a quadrant 62 to move under the influence of a spring 63 so as to display a new set of numerals through orifices 64 in the indicating scale 38. The beams 3, 26 carry graduated bars with sliding poises. Dash-pots 22 check vibration.
