Computing - apparatus; pendulum weight apparatus.- A weighing scale of the computing-drum type is provided at both ends of the drum with a pendulousweightor weights so mounted that the axis, or axes, about which it, or they, swing, is parallel with or in line with the axis of rotation of the drum and is located within a zone defined by the periphery of the drum. A bridge piece 3 supported from the base plate 1 by uprights 2 carries two bearing plates 22 on which the computing drum 19 is mounted. On the bearing plates are U-shaped extensions 28 each carrying a pendulum lever 29 connected to the weighbeam 4 by a flexible band 24 and rod 9. The pivotal axes of the pendulum levers are parallel with or in line with the axis of rotation of the drum and are located within a zone defined by the periphery of the drum. The pendulum levers are arranged to swing in opposite directions. The scale-pan carrier 5<a> is provided with two upwardly-extending arms 6 pivotally connected to links 7 for maintaining the parallelism of the scale pan. A rack carried by the weighbeam actuates the computing drum.
