Abstract

236,500. Middleton Bowl Works, Ltd., and Hunt, E. W. April 25, 1925. Testing hardness of materials. - A vertically moving needle or spindle B is mounted in a frame A, a detachable weight W is directly applied to the needle, and a horizontal lever C pivoted to the frame is engaged and rocked by the needle, to impart movement to the pointer of an indicator E carried by the frame. The needle B engages the lever C by means of a pin d carried by a bush D entering a slot in the lever. A fork in the end of the lever C engages a pin carried by the quadrant in the indicator E by which the pointer is rocked.
