Class 143 In a spring counterbalanced weighing machine of the kind in which movement of the pan supporting leg 11 is communicated to an indicator 26 by a lever 21 pivoted at 20 to a stationary part of the machine, the distance between pivot 20 and the point of connection of the lever 21 to the leg 11 is adjustable. As shown the lever 21 carries a U-shaped bracket 22 in which is threaded a screw 23 the head 24 of which is urged into engagement with an abutment 19 on the leg 11 by a counterweight 32. The scale is zeroized by means of an adjustable bell crank 34 which supports spring 17.
