Abstract

Elevated railways. - In elevated runway points comprising a pivoted track section a aligning with fixed sections l, m, secured to a casting b, the section a is also secured to the casting b and has two studs or shafts d, g, which pass through the casting and have upper bearings to take the weight of the point and load. The stud d serves as the pivot, while the stud g projects through a slot h and carries a roller or bowl j engaging a path k on the casting. A counterweight v is connected to the stud g while stops t adjust the extreme position of the point. The stud g also engages one end of a lever e pivoted on the stud d and connected at the other end to a link x and handle c. The point a carries a stop a<1> to block the open lines. In a modification, Fig. 7, a chain-wheel is coupled to a shaft b<1> carrying a wheel 10 which actuates a rack q attached to the stud g, the point being adjusted by a spring plunger s engaging notches y in the rack q.
