Abstract

286,493. Elliott, T. H., and Collins, W. C. April 19, 1927. Axle stops 1 comprise a central stop interconnected with but spaced from two stops mounted on an axle 8. The central stop is mounted on an axle 4 and is connected by levers 5, 7 and rod 6 with axle 8, lever 7 being coupled to a hand-lever 10. The axles 4, 8 are spaced according to the number of vehicles to be controlled. At the commencement of a curve, the single stop may be displaced slightly towards the inner rail so as to tend to slew the truck. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of two stops in the leading position.
