Abstract
266,915. Tamamura, Y. March 16, 1926. Rope grips.-The movable jaw 7 is provided laterally with wings 13, Fig. 6, extending along the upper side of the haulage rope 28 and is connected by a pivot pin 5, Fig. 3, to the stationary jaw 6. The jaw 7 is connected by a pivot 12 to the centre of a block from the ends of which extend upwardly arms 2 which are connected at their upper ends by a, shaft 20, Fig. 7. A rod 3 connected at one end by a universal joint to the shaft 20 is attached at the other to a yoke which is pivoted to trunnions 16 provided on a tubular shaft 15 forming part of the load-carrying member 4. A tension spring 22 connects the yoke and member 4. The shaft 15 receives a rod 11 which is formed integral with a shaft 10 mounted in a bearing formed at the top of a rod 8. An arm 1 integral with the jaw 6 is formed with a cylindrical recess at its upper end which receives the rod 8. Means are provided for preventing the relative rotation of the member 4 and rod 11, and of the arm 1 and rod 8. and for limiting the amount of relative longitudinal movement of the latter members. The upper end of the member 4 is formed as a ring 14 and provided with wheels 17 which run on to a track 29 at each station and so effect the disengagement of the grip from the rope.
