Abstract

Endless-track vehicles. - A ball joint for the links of endless-tracks and driving chains comprises a pivot pin 3 having a spherical enlargement 5, a transversely-divided bearing 2 at one end of a link engaging the ball 5, the bearing being arranged in an elevated position for engagement with the driving wheel, and fork members 8<1> at the end of the adjacent link holding the ends of the pin. The ends of the bearing 2 abut against the fork members 8<1> by means of spherical surfaces 7, and the bore of the bearing is flared outwardly at 6 to allow universal movement. Each link comprises a plate 13, a rubber tread 14, and lateral supporting rails 4 secured to the plate 13 by means of flanges 15. The links are formed with overlapping cheeks 8 having interengaging spherical surfaces 10 concentric with the ball 5. The track or chain is provided with spherical collars 11 which are mounted on the bearing 2 and act as teeth for engagement by corresponding surfaces on the driving wheel 12.
