Abstract

391,487. Endless-track vehicles. FITZGERALD, J. G., 11, Rothsay Gardens, Bedford. Oct. 29, 1931, No. 30017. [Class 79 (i).] Comprises an endless-track vehicle in which the weight of the vehicle is carried by the axles of a series of rollers 4 running on the tracks 1 and in which the track is driven by one or more driving chains 11, 12 independent of the rollers or their axles but taking the whole of the driving load. In the construction shown the weight of the vehicle is applied to the axles of the rollers 4 as described in Specification 391,502, and the rollers run on roller paths 3 formed on the track members 1 outside flanges 2. The driving chain comprises inner and outer links 11, 12, bushes 14, and pins 13 by which the chain is connected to the track members. The tracks are provided with overlapping groundengaging members 15. The driving chain may be enclosed by the track members, or two driving chains may be employed instead of one.
