Abstract

127,344. Caterpillar Tractors, Ltd., (Holt Manufacturing Co.). April 26, 1917. Portable-track wheeds. - Supplemental tread shoes 20 of greater width than the main shoes 14 are detachably secured to the track links by bolts 21 fitted in bosses 19 arranged between the rail webs 10 and the flanged edges 15 of the shoes 14. The shoes 14 are formed integral with the webs, or otherwise secured thereto independently of the bosses, the flanges 15 and rail edges 13 being preferably in alinement. As shown in Fig. 4, the ends of the main and supplemental shoes on adjacent links are arranged to intermesh. Specification 100,573 is referred to.
