Abstract
398,988. Endless-tracks for vehicles. BIALKOWSKI, L., 40, Grojecka Strasse, Warsaw. July 23, 1932, No. 20853. [Class 79(i).] In an endlesstrack of the kind wherein the links 1 are connected together without bolts or pins by the inter-engagement of their ends, wedges or spreading members 3, 4 or 9 are introduced between adjacent links to keep the link ends always engaged even when the track is loose. The wedges are secured to the links by bolts 6 which may be extended inwardly either to secure other members to the links if desired or to engage the chain wheel (not shown). The wedges may extend flush with the surface of the links as at 3, so as to form part of the roadengaging surface, or they may project beyond the links as at 4 to form the whole of the road-engaging surface, and they may be of the full width of the track as at 9. Resilient insets 2 may be provided in the links 1. The wedges may be of elastic material such as rubber, wood, or metal in the form of resilient insertions or coiled springs.
